😇 We had 22 Saints from our Together in Christ Family of parishes take part in the All Saints Day Mass at St. Mary's Swormville yesterday! Dressing up as a Saint teaches our children to honor Christian heroes, learn about virtues, and connect with their faith in a hands-on way. Great job to all!

🕯️🍂 Today the Church celebrates All Souls' Day. We offer prayers for everyone who has died and is still being made ready to see God face to face.

Here are a few simple ways to pray for the faithful departed as a family:

• Make a list of names. Write down grandparents, friends and anyone your family has lost. Keep the list by the dinner table and pray for them before meals all month. (November is the month of the Holy Souls.)

• Learn the Eternal Rest prayer. "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen."

• Visit a cemetery. Through November 8th, the Church grants a plenary indulgence for the souls in purgatory when you visit a cemetery and pray for the dead (under the usual conditions). Bring the kids and let them pray at a family grave.

• Offer a Mass or a Rosary. Ask your parish to offer a Mass for someone you love, or pray a decade of the Rosary together for them tonight.

St. Mary's Swormville and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary parishes are recognizing October as Respect Life Month with visual memorials symbolizing the precious lives lost to abortion.

There is one cross on the lawn of our parishes for every one million babies aborted since 1973. Sixty three white crosses, for 63 million babies.

The life of the Blessed Mother teaches us to respect each human life in every stage and circumstance. We ask her intercession in helping us to recognize the gift of human life, even when that gift is unexpected or calls us to make sacrifices.

O Mary, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life.
