Montessori students have been working with the parable of the mustard seed. They observe how small the seeds are, but how when planted can grow into a tall tree. One of the works in our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd curriculum in the Montessori classroom is the model altar. Coach Suttell's SMS grade 3/4 co-ed basketball team came out with a win this past weekend over St. Mary's Lancaster. 🐝 In celebration of #CatholicSchoolsWeek SMS students participated in a "Catholic Bee" on Friday! The "white" & "blue" teams faced off to test their knowledge of the Mass, scripture, liturgical seasons & more. Students in the audience were also invited to answer the questions on their clipboards. The teams "buzzed in" with their answers using light up bee sculptures made by students in our Makerspace Lab. The white team claimed victory in a close match, but every on-stage participant was a winner thanks to Target gift cards generously donated by the St. Mary's Knights of Columbus.
