Good Friday is a somber remembrance of Jesus’ crucifixion and death on the cross. It is a day of fasting and penance and a time to examine all of the places in our lives where we fail to follow Christ and fall into sin. Good Friday is not merely a commemoration of a historical event; rather, Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross, along with his glorious resurrection, comprise the heart of the Christian faith.
Good Friday is not a Mass; holy Communion that is distributed has been consecrated on Holy Thursday and kept in the tabernacle for adoration. Also Stations of the Cross are offered on Good Friday.
Family Faith Activity: Pray the Lord’s Prayer at bedtime on this night in remembrance of Christ’s gift for all of salvation.

🐬 Grades 3 & 4 went outside this week to collect materials for the mini-shelters they're making in response to their novel study. The students are reading, "Island of the Blue Dolphins" by Scott O'Dell. Students will build their mini-shelters using only materials from outside, and write a letter in first person as the main character, Karana, does in the story.

Join us before 4 pm Mass today for Kindergarten Story Hour! Your child will enjoy a story read aloud to them by Kindergarten teacher, Miss Pamela Gon, and your family can then go on a tour of St. Mary School with our Enrollment Coordinator, Mrs. Rebecca Kisailus. The tour will end with an option to browse and shop at our Spring Ignatius Book Fair.

3:00 pm: Story Hour in the Kindergarten Classroom with Miss Gon

SMS Families, see you tonight for Roller Skating! Rainbow Skateland, 1109 Lincoln Ave, Lockport, NY 14094, 5 - 7 pm for the HSA annual Roller Skating Party in support of our Magnificat School Gala!
Cost is $25 per skater. No pre-registration is needed, just pay cash or check at the door. Bring your own skates if you have them, otherwise rentals are included and we will have skate helpers available for use. Students and siblings will also receive arcade tokens.
Proceeds from this event will go towards purchasing items for the Magnificat Gala on behalf of all school families. This event is free to students of those families who paid the All-In or Fundraising Donation.
