Congratulations to our student winners of the 2024 Swormville Fire Co. Fire Prevention Poster Contest! 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners in grades K-5 were announced at the Swormville Fire Co. Open House this weekend. Those students who could not attend will receive their awards when they take a walking field trip to the firehouse with their class this week. St. Jerome was born to Catholic parents who taught him about Jesus. When he was older, Jerome lost his love for Jesus. Once he again found his faith, he was so afraid that he would fall back into his old ways that he moved away from his family and friends. Saint Jerome is reputed to have removed a thorn from a lion’s paw while living as a hermit in the desert. He was known for having a bad temper but worked hard at controlling himself. He was the first to translate the Bible from Hebrew to Latin.
