St. Mary School fifth graders are developing as Disciples of Christ. They enjoyed spending some quiet time in the church yesterday during Religion class. Students read Ephesians 4: 1-16 (“Live a life worthy of the calling you have received…”), then completed a personal reflection on their own special gifts and talents.

A few days ago the second graders were able to color the last square on their Easter Season calendar! Throughout the season, they enjoyed keeping track of all 50 days, and were excited to color the picture for Pentecost!

Many more disciples are needed to make an impact on St. Mary's Day of Service, Saturday, June 10, 2023. Please join us in service to others.
Volunteers are invited to attend 9:00 am Mass at St. Mary's and gather for a blessing after Mass before proceeding to their service sites.
This year, we have three service options from which to choose. For details on each and to sign up, click on the service activity below:

Today is the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Gospel Lk 1:39-55
Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah,
where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said,
"Most blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
And how does this happen to me,
that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you by the Lord
would be fulfilled."
And Mary said:
"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he has remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever."

Memorial Day traditions continued with the celebration of Mass in St. Mary's parish cemetery and the Alfred Jurek American Legion Post wreath ceremony at the American flag at the northern corner of the school.

He was ordained on June 6, 2015, served at St. Gregory the Great Church for four years, was the administrator at St. Peter's in Lewiston for several months, and has been the Pastor at Infant of Prague Parish for the last 3 years. Fr. Tom is looking forward to getting to know our St. Mary's family and his new Family of Parishes.
