First Five Saturdays Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Immaculate Heart of Mary

This devotional opportunity, offered every first Saturday of the month, includes praying the Rosary and devotional prayers after 9 a.m. Mass.   There is also an opportunity for confession following Mass.  It is the hope that after completing the first Five Saturdays we will continue to grow our relationship with Jesus through Mary.  After visiting with Mary for five months, one might wonder if Mary hopes we will return every month after, when we can, to experience the life of Her Son through the eyes of His Mother in the Rosary.

To practice this devotion the following should be completed, all done with a sincere desire to offer up consolation to The Immaculate Heart of Mary:

  1. Confession,

  2. Holy Mass and receive Holy Communion on the First Saturday of the month; for 5 consecutive months,

  3. Recite The Most Holy Rosary with Scriptural Meditation, and

  4. Offer prayers to The Immaculate Heart of Mary (consecration to Her Immaculate Heart).

The official First Five Saturdays Devotion to The Immaculate Heart of Mary, begins on the first Saturday of each January through May (Feast if Our Lady of Fatima) …then we celebrate each month the 6 apparitions (May-October) …we celebrate Advent and Christmas and then it leads us back to January…certainly a divine plan.

On the 13th May 1917, Our Lady first mentioned devotion to her Immaculate Heart to the children of Fatima saying “You have seen hell, where souls of poor sinners go.  To save them God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.  If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.”

On May 29, 1930, Our Blessed Mother revealed to Sister Lucia the five offenses and blasphemies to Her Immaculate Heart, including blasphemies against Her Immaculate Conception, Her Perpetual Virginity, Her Divine Maternity and Maternity of all people, instructing children scorn of Our Immaculate Mother, and offenses against Her holy images.

Come, let us console the Immaculate Heart of Mary!
