This Sunday, September 20, is Catechetical Sunday. All catechists will receive a special blessing during all weekend Masses.
Lk 4:18, cf. Is. 61:1 reveals that the Messiah comes not with power or status, but with compassion, restoring dignity, and proclaiming God's mercy. It also becomes a model for the Church, us, which is called to continue Christ's work by sharing the Good News and caring for those most in need.
Thank you to the many catechists who serve our Together in Christ Family. May God our Father, the Father of Love, fill you with confidence and joy as you proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.
A second collection will be taken at all weekend Masses to benefit all that the Catholic Education Office and our incredible Catechists do for our Church and Family of Parishes -- echoing the faith and helping all to encounter Jesus through many different ministries. From our youngest to our most seasoned parishioners, from those who have lived in the faith for many years to those just entering the Church, our Catechists reach out to all to pass on the faith.
