The Living Stations of the Cross were reenacted Friday evening by our 5th grade class, under the direction of Mrs. Katie Bishop. This special Lenten tradition is part of "Pray & Play", an event put on by our HSA & students that is both faith & fun-filled.
Our 5th grade students did a wonderful job portraying Jesus Christ’s final hours—his passion, death, and burial, on stage with prayerful reflections. This special presentation of the Living Stations of the Cross serves to help participants connect the past to the present, focusing on suffering, love, forgiveness, and the ultimate sacrifice. It was a beautiful time to reflect on our faith, & a truly moving experience. We hope this reverent, prayerful evening will help everyone who was able to attend focus their hearts & minds during the upcoming Holy Week. A special thank you to 6th grader Francesca Mineo for accompanying the 5th graders on her cello.
Then after we PRAYed, we PLAYed! When Stations of the Cross were done, families stayed to have some fun & help raise money for a good cause during Lent... Catholic Charities! Kids of all ages enjoyed the games & activities created by our 6th & 7th graders, as well as ice cream treats, our famous Cake Walk, and the "Pie in the Face" activity with some good humored members of our St. Mary’s staff!
Thank you to all who contributed to the evening's success! To see more photos of Pray & Play click here.
