class of 2025

Last week we celebrated some of our smallest and tallest students! On Tuesday morning our Kindergartners celebrated with a lively Moving Up Day ceremony, and on the evening of Wednesday, June 18th, a small but mighty class became the newest alumni of St. Mary School.

At our Kindergarten Moving Up Day ceremony, Miss Krista's Montessori Kindergarten class & Miss Gon's Kindergarten class came together to sing three adorable songs, complete with hand movements! "If I Were a Butterfly", the Kindergarten traditional "I am a Promise", and "I'm On My Way", made parents & grandparents clap & cheer with delight. Students received their Kindergarten completion certificates, then partook in a light reception with family & friends. Click here to see more photos of Kindergarten Moving Up Day.

For our 2025 8th Grade Graduation Mass, Father Tom, Father Peter, Father Art, & Father Walt concelebrated for our SMS faculty, parents, family members, students and friends. Our Principal, Mrs. D'Angelo took a moment to thank all those people who have helped the class of 2025 get to this special point and make this evening a memorable one, including: St. Mary’s teachers, past and present, all those who helped this group of students grow spiritually and supported them in their Catholic education, the priests who have passed through the halls and have been a part of their classes over the years, Mrs. Egleston, Mr. Luckett, and Mr. Slish for their continued support of our students' faith formation and Catholic identity, Mrs. Daigler for adding to the Mass with her wonderful talents, to the servers, cantors, and choir for taking time to be there and be such an important part of the Mass, Mrs. Leong who helped prepare for the evening’s ceremony, and Mr. Dolan for being the 8th grade homeroom teacher and advisor and making this a fun year.

Mrs. D'Angelo urged our class of 2025 to cherish these memories and the people they have met along the way as they move on from St. Mary’s to their various high schools. Then Father Tom blessed the diplomas before they were distributed.

Members of the class of 2025 have been active in the life of the school and parish, received a variety of awards, have been accepted to excellent high schools, and many were awarded various high school scholarships.

Mrs. D'Angelo concluded with the following message for our newest alumni:

"This is an amazing class, and it’s hard to believe that their time here is over. I’m sure there were times when you never thought this day would come. But you made it. Just remember, you can’t do it alone. Although many of you are going in different directions, St. Mary’s will always unite you. You will always have each other and the teachers, staff, and priests here will always be on your side. And most importantly, remember that you always have your faith. Never forget the lessons learned here, the prayers, the silly songs during rise and shine, "Captain Disciple" making appearances, the special homilies that our priests shared to help us understand how we should live, and most of all that Jesus loves each and every one of you and will always be there for you."

Congratulations to our 8th grade graduating class of 2025!
