Saint Mary School’s Montessori Children’s House Celebrates Five Years
Saint Mary School Swormville, the first and only Catholic Elementary school in Northern Erie and Southern Niagara Counties to offer a fully accredited Montessori program that is designed to engage children aged 3 through 6, completes its fifth year this spring. The self-paced Montessori curriculum incorporates hands-on learning, exploration, creative instruction and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-based introduction to the Catholic faith. This enables children to meet their potential in a peaceful nurturing environment.
The success of St. Mary’s Montessori Children’s House and Kindergarten through Grade 8 program is based on a strong moral and academic foundation within a Christ-centered, family friendly, and technology-rich environment. This foundation, combined with differentiated classroom instruction and its embrace of the STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) philosophy of interactive, interdisciplinary learning, encourages students to recognize and use their God-given talents to reach their full potential – academically, socially, and spiritually.
On school time tours are available by calling (716)689-8424. St. Mary School’s Open House is January 26, 12:15 – 2:00 PM. Saint Mary School Swormville is located at 6919 Transit Road in East Amherst. They have been developing faith-filled leaders since 1849.

Mission Outreach: Appalachia
Monthly meetings for Outreach: Applachia are scheduled on the following dates. All meetings are from 7 :30 – 9:00 PM in room 108 of the Parish Center. We need parishioners to help with the planning and organizing of our first trip to the Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center in Kentucky this summer as well as people interested in to Appalachia to assist.
