St. Mary’s Supports Survivors

On Thursday, November 14th,  from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in room 110 & 111,  St. Mary’s Parish will open its Parish Center doors for an evening event organized and hosted by the Buffalo Survivors Group; “Enlighten & Empower: An Evening with Survivors”.

Giving victims an opportunity to share their own personal stories and provide support and resources to other survivors in the community, aids tremendously in their healing process.

Rev. Bob Zilliox, a survivor as well, fully understands how this type of share, can impact a survivor in the process to achieving peace. When the group was looking for a location to share and hold this event, he assured them that St. Mary’s would find the space they needed.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

The evening begins with some victims sharing their stories, followed by an open question and answer session. Parishioners of St. Mary’s are welcome to attend along with the general public.

Father Zilliox, acknowledges that “although this type of sharing may bring back pain for all, this is a necessary step towards the healing process for many and offers hope for the future”.
