The Spring for Success Dinner and Auction Gala is held in April to raise funds for faith community. Previously held at Brookfield Country Club, volunteers are needed to organize the event, recruit sponsors and solicit item donations.
The church sponsors many functions that need desserts or finger foods. Volunteers will be called upon once or twice a year to bake or cook.
This group meets the third Friday of every month from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Parish Center. Meetings include card playing, refreshments and fellowship.
Coffee and Donut Social
Offered monthly following Sunday Masses to encourage fellowship among parishioners. Facilitated by various parish ministry volunteers.
St. Mary’s Church picnic is held the second last Sunday in July. It is the major fundraiser for the parish and requires the hands of all parishioners. Volunteers help with picnic planning, set-up, clean-up and working food and game booths.
Chowder Chase 5K
Volunteers are always needed to assist with the 5k Chowder Chase and Beer and Wine Social held the Friday night of picnic weekend.
Forever Young (55 & older)
This senior organization is for anyone 55 years of age and older. This social group hosts monthly events including speakers, outings and social gatherings.
Quilting group meets in the cafeteria on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Afghan size or larger quilts are made to gift to those in need. Anyone is welcome to join – all that is required is a willingness to learn. Donations of fabric and sewing supplies are always appreciated.
Soup Supper/Friendship Supper
Volunteers are always welcome. The Friendship Supper is a pot luck dinner on Holy Thursday before the evening Mass. The Soup Supper is a family event held during Lent.
