Lifelong Faith Formation
Bible Study Groups
There are several Bible Study programs offered throughout the year that afford individuals the opportunity to deepen their faith and knowledge of Sacred Scripture. Little Rock Bible Study, Faith Comes Alive and other scripture study opportunities are offered at various times during the year.
Reconnecting With Your Catholic Faith
This program encourages all catholics to faithfully embrace the sacramental life of the Church, through weekly Mass and the sacrament of penance. It seeks to answer questions about the faith and be expecially supportive to those Catholics who have been away for a long time.
Confirmation Spirit Mentor Ministry
Spirit Mentors work with a small group of Confirmation candidates to prepare them for the sacrament of Confirmation. Mentors volunteer by leading young people in various faith experiences during an eight-month period.
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)
Renewal process that calls together members of the parish – religious and laity – in a small Christian environment. A retreat weekend is held in the Parish Center and is an excellent opportunity to get to know some of your brothers and sisters in Christ and renew your relationship with Jesus.
Daughters of Mary
Provides mothers an opportunity to enjoy fellowship, build relationships, network and share faith. Catholic moms meet for faith-based activities and social events. Watch the website and bulletin for event details.
Faith Formation (FF) offers opportunities for parishioners of all ages to strengthen their relationship with Jesus. Initiatives for individuals and families include workshops, online programs family faith sharing and service projects. Contact the Faith Formation office at 688-0599 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lifeteen/Edge Core Team Members
Core Team members are volunteers who work with the Youth Ministry staff to pass on the faith to the youth of St. Mary’s in junior high and high school Fatih Formation programs. No prior experience is needed. Volunteers are trained and resources are provided.
Faith Sharing Groups
Faith sharing groups are open to anyone who would like to deepen their prayer life, relate Scripture to their lives and discuss their faith in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. A women’s faith sharing group meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Prayer Room; a men’s group meets on the third Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and another men’s group meets two Saturday mornings each month at 7 a.m. in the cafeteria (check the bulletin for dates).
Married couples assist engaged couples in their preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage. Couples meet with one of the parish priests prior to setting their date. Sponsor couples are always needed for this ministry.
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) invites persons who are not Catholic to learn about the Catholic faith and become full members of the Catholic Community. RCIA also provides a similar process to baptized Catholics who have not received the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and/or Confirmation. Catechumens participate in a scripture-based, in-depth study of the faith, beginning in advent and concluding with their reception of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
St. Mary School
Volunteers are always welcome to assist in the library, serve as lunch monitors, coach sports teams and assist with the drama program. Help is also welcome with various fundraising events during the school year.
School Board of Limited Jurisdiction
Parishioners, educators and school parents who meet once a month to advise the pastor and principal in areas of long-term strategic planning, financial stability, Catholic identity, organizational structure & leadership, marketing and development.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Each summer young people of our parish celebrate a week of faith-filled games, crafts and bible stories. Adult and teen volunteers are needed to facilitate activities and provide help with decorating.
