Fr. Tom Mahoney

Dear Parish Family,

This weekend we begin our new Mass schedule.  I know this has been very difficult for all of us.  It is easy to say, “Change is difficult.”  It is an entirely different thing to experience change.  Change is not only difficult, but also painful.  We have all felt the difficulty of this moment, but it is my hope that we will move forward remaining focused on the Sacraments of the Church given to us by Jesus Christ.

On a happier note, with the help of the Administration Pillar, we have decided on a family name.  Our family name is the Akron Clarence Roman Catholic Community.  Because we are not allowed to choose a Saint as our family name, we felt it was best to choose a geographical name for our family.  We went with something simple to remember and easily searchable on the internet.

With a family name selected, we then purchased a domain name.  Once we have developed a web page for our site, we will announce that as well.  Our short-term goal is to create a page that then links to the current websites of our four parishes.  Long-term we will decide if we should have one website or keep the four websites of the parishes.

Our other Road to Renewal pillars are making progress as we continue to work on our plan to integrate our parishes into a family.  This activation period is being spread out over a six-month period.  We are making steady progress in our plans.  Some of the families that were activated on July 1 with us are moving at a slower pace than we are.  Some are moving faster.  As we continue to make progress on the Road to Renewal we will provide you with updates.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.  St. Teresa of Avila, pray for us.

AMDG,

Fr. Tom Mahoney
