Dear Parish Family,
This weekend’s bulletin includes a list of the members of each of the six pillars of our Road to Renewal program.
The members of this team were selected by a combination of the lay leadership of the parish and the pastors before our family was activated. Because I was brand new to our parishes, I asked the previous pastors and administrators to assist me in selecting people for each of the pillars. While I had very little to do with selecting the members of the pillar, I am confident in their dedication to each parish they represent and to the family of parishes we are forming.
Each pillar group is working towards creating a plan for our family of parishes to work together in the future. After they have created this plan we, as a family, will begin to implement the plan. Some things we will implement quickly while others will take longer.
The diocesan Road to Renewal team created these pillars to come up with a plan for the families of parishes and they expect this to take six months. They are calling this the activation period. The pillars are collaborative and consultative and will give the pastor recommendations on how to move forward with our family of parishes.
After we are “activated” as a family of parishes, we expect over the next three years to implement the plan created by the pillars.
Does this sound all too confusing? I’m sorry if it does. If you would like a better understanding of the Road to Renewal, Fr. Bryan Zielenieski and his team have created a variety of information videos, presentations, and articles to help you understand the process. I encourage you to go to the web site (https://roadtorenewal.org/). They also have a page on this web site where you can submit questions if you do not find the information you are looking for.
AMDG,
~Fr. Tom
