The Feast of the Assumption is our parish feast day as well because the full name of our church is St. Mary of the Assumption. St. Mary's has a tradition of having an outdoor Mass followed by a "BYOP" hamburger/hot dog picnic on August 15th each year. "BYOP" stands for Bring Your Own Picnic provisions; this keeps the event simple for all.
All are invited to join us for Mass (the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation) and to celebrate our parish feast day!
In addition to the Monday Vigil Mass at 5 pm and the 7:00 and 9:00 am Masses on Tuesday morning, St. Mary's Outdoor Mass will be at 6:00 pm on the lawn between the priest house and the parking lot. Please bring a lawn chair for your comfort.
The “Bring Your Own Picnic” immediately follows the Outdoor Mass. All are invited to bring your own picnic provisions (plates, utensils, beverages, and side dishes). Hot dogs & hamburgers will be provided; grilled to perfection by Christ Renews His Parish/Welcome 2.0 alumni.
