Parent Life

Leading Parents Closer to Christ!

Parent Life is a ministry within the Life Teen movement. This important ministry is dedicated & geared to the parents of teens and middle school youth. It is designed to give parents an opportunity to support their parish ministry programs while strengthening their own relationship with Christ and His Church.  The Parent Life meetings are run for parents by parents and are an opportunity for moms and dads with junior high and high school age teens to share their experiences and support each other through prayer and faith sharing.

This program is currently in the works and we are looking for adult volunteers to assist in leading our Parent Life Ministry.

More information will be forthcoming in the near future so check back soon.

Parent Life

Each month a group of parents will meet during the Life Teen and/ or Edge session to pray for the intentions of our teens and other parents involved in the Life Teen and Edge Ministries.  You can attend as many sessions as you would like but we encourage all parents with teens in our Life Teen and Edge ministries to come pray with us at least twice a year; during Advent and Lent.  This group will need coordinators for the Edge and Life Teen.  The coordinators will be responsible for keeping in contact with the Youth Ministry office and other members of the ministry to communicate meeting times and prayer intentions.

Hospitality

Every time we meet for Life Teen and The Edge we offer the teens a snack break.  Parents in our hospitality ministry will set up, clean up, and serve snacks and beverages to the teens.  All snacks are brought in by the teens themselves, however anyone interested in baking for the Life Teen or Edge Sessions are invited to contact the Youth Ministry office to volunteer their services.  This ministry will need coordinators for the Life Teen and Edge sessions.  The coordinator will be responsible for keeping in contact with the Youth Ministry Office and the other parents involved in our Hospitality Ministry.

 Saint Mary’s Stage Crew

Saint Mary’s Life Teen and Edge sessions are hosted in our parish gymnasium.  Each week we do a little to add some atmosphere to the room.  St. Mary’s stage crew will be responsible for setting up an environment which will reflect the theme of the evening.  Sometimes this will be as simple as setting up a few tables and chairs, other times it could mean you are turning the gym into a high security facility, winter wonderland, or a cathedral!  The coordinators of this ministry will need to have some technical skill, be able to do some heavy lifting, and keep in contact with the Youth Ministry office and the other members of their ministry.

 Saint Michael’s Ministry

The members of this ministry will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment for the teens attending the Life Teen and Edge Sessions.  The members of this ministry will welcome the teens as they arrive and wish them well as they leave the sessions.  Your responsibility will be to make teens feel welcome, greet visitors and late arrivals, and give directions to those unfamiliar with St. Mary’s Parish Center.  The Saint Michael’s Ministry will need coordinators for the Life Teen and Edge programs who will be responsible for keeping in contact with the Youth Ministry office and the other members of their ministry.

Service Project Coordination

This position requires volunteers to work with a team in contacting service agencies (list available in the office) and set up monthly service projects for the students.  This person would also deliver collected items to the agencies each month.
